Hobby Workshops
We offer the following hobby workshops on picture framing and on stretching and framing needle art.

Hobby Picture Framing Workshop
The Hobby Course is designed for participants wishing to use basic framing techniques to frame their own pictures. The course introduces the role of colour in mat selection, provides the first steps to mat cutting and design, walks through picture frame assembly, (you do not cut your own frames in this course), and explains the proper materials and techniques used. The course will introduce the basic components of shadow boxes and a dry mounting and laminate.

The FT Club
Graduates of our framing courses are eligible for membership in the FT Club. Membership benefits include discounts on framing materials and services to make it easy and convenient for you to frame your own pictures. Only Frame Tutor School graduates are eligible for membership. For more details, please contact us.
Needle art Framing Workshop
We offer a workshop on how to stretch and frame needle art. This is a 2 part course teaching the proper materials and methods used in framing needle art.

Week 1:
- Cleaning and Blocking
- Proper materials used for stretching and how to stretch needle art.
- Ordering materials for framing your project.
Week 2:
Packaging using the correct methods and materials.
Specialty Workshops
Upon request, specialty or custom workshops are available to students who have completed the Hobby Course. These workshops are tailored to the needs of the participants. In the past, we have offered workshops on:
- advanced mat cutting
- multi-opening mats
- decorative mats
- shadow boxes
- inlays
We will schedule these classes to meet your requirements. Minimum enrollment may apply. Please contact us for more information or to schedule a workshop.
